| WHAT IS REFLEXOLOGY?
Reflexology is an alternative healing technique
- a science which deals with the principle that there are reflex
areas in the feet and hands relating to each and every organ and
part of the body. By properly working on these reflexes, we
can help to relieve many health problems even very serious
ones - in a natural way.
WHY TRY REFLEXOLOGY?
Reflexology is a totally holistic technique
that treats the entire body by manual pressure on the feet or hands.
Circulation is improved, nerve impulses are unblocked, and stress
is relieved. (Many serious and common illnesses are directly linked
to stress, and relieving it allows the body to heal itself naturally.)
Reflexology also promotes integration of the bodys systems,
and of the body with the mind and emotions. Reflexology will not
make any condition worse, and its only side effect is that at the
end of the session your feet will feel great!
ARE THERE DIFFERENT
KINDS OF REFLEXOLOGY, AND WHAT KIND DOES DAVID COOK DO?
There are various schools of Reflexology, but
most took their inspiration from the work of Eunice Ingham, who
published the first book on Reflexology in 1938. David Cook, who
practices Reflexology at Prince St. in NY City, teaches courses
for the institute Eunice founded, the International Institute of
Reflexology. This is primarily therapeutic Reflexology, although
it is also very relaxing.
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT
FROM A REFLEXOLOGY SESSION?
The client relaxes in a reclining chair and
the Reflexologist sits on a secretarial chair and works on the clients
feet (or sometimes hands). Because Ingham-method Reflexology is
therapeutic, each session is as long as needed for the particular
client, but the average is about 45 minutes.
A session will:
- Relieve Stress & Tension
- Improve Nerve Supply & Circulation
- Help Your Body to Normalize
- Leave Your Body Relaxed and Your Feet Feeling Great!

CAN I LEARN TO DO REFLEXOLOGY MYSELF?

New Jersey, or City Island. Click on Classes
